Privacy Policy
Podcast Annotator ("the app", "we") is built with a commitment to respecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data. In short: all your notes and voice recordings are stored locally on your device and are never sent to our servers.
1. Data We Process
The app only processes data that you create while using it:
- Voice recordings you create when you tap SNAP.
- Text notes and timestamps you save.
- Podcast URLs you enter for playback.
- App preferences such as skip interval and last playback position.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or any personal identifiers. The app has no login or account system.
2. Where Data Is Stored
All recordings, notes, and preferences are stored locally on your device (in the app's private storage). We do not operate servers to receive or store this data. When you uninstall the app or use the "Delete All Data" option in Settings, the corresponding data is removed from your device.
3. Device Permissions
- Microphone: used to record your voice notes. Recordings are stored only on your device.
- Internet: used to download and play podcast episodes from URLs you provide. The app does not send your personal data over the network.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in your operating system's Settings; some related features will stop working accordingly.
4. Third Parties
When you play a podcast, your device connects directly to the server hosting that audio file (chosen by you via the URL). These servers belong to third parties and have their own policies that we do not control. The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
5. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children. Since the app does not collect personal data, no information about children is sent to us.
6. Your Rights
Since your data resides on your device, you have full control: view, edit, or delete individual notes, or delete all data in the app's Settings at any time.
7. Policy Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with the revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
